Jongomero Ruaha National Park, Tanzania

Unmatched privacy and a true wilderness experience.

  • Jongomero Ruaha National Park, Tanzania

WHY WE LIKE IT

One of the things we like about the park is that there is no fence around it, so the animals are free to pass if they please. Elephants, herds of buffalo and even lion occassionally pass the camp. No worries, the tents are perfectly secure.

HOTEL DESCRIPTION

Because of the isolated location of the camp there's no wifi, mobile phone reception or television.Jongomero camp comprises eight large and well-appointed tented suites with a big veranda.  The Ruaha National Park (23.000 sq km!) is a beautifull  and perhaps the least wel-known park among safari tourists. However, its without doubt one of the spectacular parks in Africa.

ACTIVITIES

Of course you can join the game drive (looking for wild animals in a landrover). Besides that you go on a game walk, so without the landrover. And there is an option to do a walking safari; a one or two day expedition on foot through the camp sleeping in a small fly-camp.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Fly to Dar es Salaam, from there to an airstrip 10 min from the camp. At the camp are armed guides and security.
